Occupational therapy (OT) is the art and science of helping people perform the day-to-day activities that are important to them despite impairment, disability, or handicap. For children, these may include vital daily activities such as eating, dressing, school work, and play. Children with a variety of difficulties and diagnoses will benefit from OT including: sensory processing disorders (SPD), autism, challenging behaviors, and feeding issues.
Physical Therapy (PT) facilitates motor skill development and its components including balance, coordination, flexibility, strength and endurance. For infants and children, this may include the ability to sit independently, crawl, walk, run, and climb. Children with a variety of diagnoses will benefit from PT including: prematurity, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, and developmental delays.
